Stuart Smith Park
The design follows the fact that all proper experiments and studies begin with making critical observations. The design incorporates an attractive space that draws in casual visitors as well as being a utilitarian space for members of the Parks and Recreation Department and 4H for whom this project was created.
The design features two main platforms, a private deck located at treetop height and a deck located at the upper margin of the river. Both platforms as well as the riverbed offer discrete opportunities to observe and properly utilize the space.
The two main intersecting forms that create this building have distinct portions dedicated to necessities of Parks and Recreation. The public space connects with the private at the point of intersecting forms.
